silver sabre umax

hi all, i came across a silver sabre umax for sale and am thinking about buying it. i dont know anything about tesoro's. I am thinking about getting it as a backup, second machine or possibly a primary if i like it better. i have done a bit of research on them and am not sure if there is a difference between the silver umax and the silver sabre umax. it looks like a very simple machine to use and have read a few reviews, but i would like to hear from a few who use tesoro's everyday. any feedback would be much appreciated! thanks!

Well i just bought a Vaquero. I had been looking at Tesoros a long time. The Silver is a very nice unit. I have seen and read about some great finds with it. I wanted the manual GB so I opted for the V. I have used it 3 times hunting. Very light and easy to use. The V hits deeeeep, and I have heard the Silver does as well. I really am enjoying the V. I think you will like the silver. Good luck choosing, Beale.

Both the Silver Sabre umax and the Silver umax are neat machines. I have two Silver Sabre umax detectors and have found a lot of goodies with them. The main difference between the two is the SSumax has an adjustable threshold, and an a pinpoint button that shifts it into non motion all metal mode for pinpointing. The Silver has no adjustable threshold and a switch to toggle in and out of all metal or discrimination mode. I wired in a switch on one of my SSumax so that I could run in all metal continuosly without having to hold the button down. Either Silver is a good, basic capable detector for most hunting. My two bits.

Run, do not walk, to that SSuMax and pay the money. It is, possibly, in the top ten of detectors, IMHO. Never pass on the chance to buy one at fair prices.
There is enough difference between the two to Silver models to warrant favoring the SSuMax.

Toss the doubt and stop over-analysing on this one - go get it immeditately. Then report back here!

Yes the Silver Sabre uMax is a good one.

It's my favorite in the Silver series.

It cost about $70 more than the Silver uMax when it was new.

The cost of the added features.

Most people don't know that the SS uMax cost more new.

It was just below what a Cibola is now.

HH,

argh! the SSumax is sold, someone beat me to it, but asking $150 obo for it, i shouldn't be to surprised. thanks everyone for the feedback and for turning me on to tesoro detectors. I think i will now look more into tesoro in the near future and hopefully add one to my arsenal. thanks again.

Keep checking - they show up on Ebay and the forum lists from time to time.

Heep checking.

It's not that hard to find a deal on a Tesoro.

Most Tesoro's are a pleasure to use. If you are

new to meterless detecting, it can be a real neat experience.

Got my first Tesoro about six months ago. It was a Cibola.

I now have four Tesoroes. Each one is a great, low cost machine....

HH,

Luck Favors The Prepared Mind.

SO keep after the goal of a SSuMax and be ready to snag one when it comes up. Ligthning rarely strikes twice, so I doubt youll find another at $150. Add another $100 to your fund, just in case, and be ready.

Some others definitely worth staying after (and the equal of the SSuMax) are:

The Bandido uMax
The Sidewinder uMax
The Eldorado uMax

Good little detectors, all.

Keep in mind when you are on ebay, you are in with the rest of the herd. Be ready to know your limits and stick to them
