SIlver Saber II and Silver uMax question

New member
Since one of the areas I work hard is a sports field with lots
of red mineralized soil ( for some reason many of the sports areas in Indiana use this red stuff )
how well do you think the SS2 and Silver uMax
will handle this situation with it's preset ground balance?

Regards

Robert R:detecting:
Just because it's red doesn't mead it is highly mineralized or problematic. As a matter of fact, just down the road a mile from my place is a business park called "Red Soils" and, believe me, that was for a reason. All around here they will start scraping and digging and expose the red soil. I've used perhaps seven manually ground balanced models, and three with an auto-tracking circuitry, to compare the mineralization factor over different areas of exposed red soil with other local sites that have ordinary-looking brown dirt. The red-colored dirt is generally lower in mineralization than a lot of the neighboring ground, at least here. So, you can't just go by color.

Both models you mention might work just fine. Even if they don't you can tweak the GB trimmer for good, functional performance. All you have to do to find out is turn them on, set the highest Sensitivity w/o chatter, lowest Discrimination, and then check them out over any particular site.

Believe me it's highly mineralized. My MXT goes crazy on it. I keep having to back off the sensitivity but it doesn't help that much.

a good thing about the silver umax is that sensitivity doesnt affect depth that much, try using a smaller coil or a DD coil. i live in Indiana too.
