silver rings and more silver rings

Hi all, Interested to hear what is your ratio of gold rings to silver rings. I finally cracked a gold ring after 15 silver rings in a row. Anyone had a longer streak than that?:fisher::inlove::fisher::ausflag:

That sounds about right....Now, ask about the ratio between pulltabs and gold rings, I'm running about 1000 to 1!
Way to go Shiraz!

At least 1000 to 1 and dont forget bottle tops, another 1000 to 1! Geesh I think I might take up crochet! Ha

Yeah! And the zinc pennies! Its those ones that turn out to be a class ring that keep me diggin 'em...oh, and those aluminum wires that are used to attach chain link fence? Man, every once in a while, one turns into a silver bracelet! Especially if it is no where near a fence! Stay in it, friend!

im about 3-1 my self for just this year.....and pull tabs well im not sure i just throw them in a bag and save them for the hospital so kids can get free dialysis time..

Yeah, I was thinking of a ratio between 1:3 and 1:5. A ratio much higher than that might indicate an area frequented by fewer adults and lots of younger people or the machine might not be properly tuned. HH!

I don't beach hunt that much but my finds are below.

Thanks John, Goldak, and Marxman...and Shiraz for bringing this up...Ive got about 40 rings this summer, and only 4 were gold. Two were class rings (both returned) one from 1997 in center field...and the other (fresh drop) from a beach..I will now redouble my effort, and keep digging those pennys, foil, and low (nickle) tones... the silver rings were soccerfield, football field, and beach finds. Got five silver rings and one junker from one soccer field alone...the other gold ones came from the beach, the other from gravel totlot...Still looking for a PLATINUM...whats it sound like?

Had an unusual summer-30 gold rings and only 22 silver rings. Of the 22 silvers, 2 were Black Hills gold over silver. I like that ratio, I've dug enough silvers to last a lifetime. HH
