Silver & Rain ...

I did'nt get much detcting time in this weekend really. We helped my wife's grandmother move to a new place on saturday, and I was able to detect in front of the house and down the sidewalk for about an hour while they unpacked boxes. Fairly good results for a strip about 20 feet long and 6 feet wide. That '63 rosie is #40 for silver coins. I am content and will march into winter with my head held high ... I've had a blessed year.

Sunday (today) was supposed to be more detecting but it kept raining every time I tried to turn my detector on .... just was not meant to be . So my friend Jim & I headed down to a set of rapids that the forest service was working on. It has been a fishing spot for centuries or longer. As you can see from the pictures the river is historically LOW ...the water is usually 3/4 of the way up the new boulder wall they built to stop erosion. Looking for artifacts .... not much luck but it was nice to get out and look around.

That's a nice years silver total my friend:thumbup:

Have you found quite a few artifacts from there?

Surprisingly not. And there is no doubt in my mind that it was a fishing spot for the indians. I'm thinking that everyone and their uncle has picked through this spot already. I did find a nice preform/knife about 15 years ago at a known crossing upstream that was part of an ancient indian trail. And by accident as a matter of fact, because I was actually fishing that day. I did'nt even take any pictures of it until last year. Was trying to get some internet info on the piece, such as it's age and type.

Nice going on #40 for the year Dave.:clapping: We got rained on today at our MDAW planted hunt as well. Had a good time and they gave away a lot of silver as prizes. GL & HH.
