Silver Of A Day With The Pro!

5-22-12finds002.jpg

Must say that I am loving my new MXT Pro more and more each time I use it. Found 5 silver dimes today 3 mercury and 2 rosevelts1 indian head 6 wheat pennies 1 little gun 1 wierd looking pendant thing 2 quarters 1 dime 5 regular pennies 1 top of a gold ring with a stone in it and the wierdest thing was this bottle that had the metal top still on it which is the only reason I found it.Going back to the place tommorow only had a couple hours to play today!

Great finds! That would be one of my best days ever. Even the bottle is pretty sweet! Any day with even 1 silver is great....5?! Wow!! I'd say you probably found some virgin ground, go back again and again, the more you cover it the deeper you will detect. The shallow stuff inhibits detecting the really old stuff. So be sure to re-cover the same areas you dug this stuff from. I've found virgin areas that kept giving up goodies in areas I was certain I burned up already. Hit it from at least 3 different directions, some deep signals will only show up from one direction and figuring in the trash some will be masked from most directons. When you think you have it burned up, switch coils and start digging again! Its amazing how another coil size/design will open up hunted out sites again.

Very nice finds. I love the green bottle also. And of course, those Indian cents and silver. What year is the Indian? Thanks for sharing and more HH, Nancy

Heck of a nice day. That bottle reminds me of a demo house I hit and found oogles of small glass bottles about 1.5" to 2.5" long and a few Chinese coins with square holes in them. I need to get back there, these I found after a disc plow exposed them in 1971, didn't even use a detector, just my 11 year old eyeballs. Area is still bare, it's in a flight path and takes a miracle to get a new building permit there.

The indian head was a 1907 was very suprised by the lack of earlier wheat cents most I found were in the 1940s.

Thanks, I just love those Indians. I bet there's more early wheats there waiting for you to rescue. HH, Nancy

your above post with the Walking Liberty 50

Yup I headed back to the same area it used to be a boarding house in the 1800s and has a large yard area to hunt! I am lucky to have several still virgin areas to look in Its always an adventure!

Great finds. The MXT Pro is an awesome coin finder. The tone IDs are really helpful. cch.
