Silver necklace chain

Listener

Well-known member
After dinner park hunt I was rewarded this nice 24” chain stamped 925 and Italy on the other side. And dug this aluminum coin from India. Having trouble reading the date cause it is deformed. Also a couple bucks in clad but you all know what that stuff looks like so left it out. Thanks for looking.

That is a nice necklace.. probably worth having a clasp put on it.
To me the date on the token looks like 1971.
Thanks, yes I am going to have a clasp put on it for my grand daughter. I think it could be 1971, something was swiped across the bottom and bent the numerals to the left, if I use a magnifying glass it appears the top of the 7 has been pushed down and could have been a five, but if I magnify the picture it becomes distorted and illegible. I will go with 1971 unless someone more familiar with this coin series can tell.

Glad to hear you will have the necklace repaired.
That link design is called “Figaro” links.
I found one several years ago and although being silver, it read just like a nickel.

Took it to the jewelers and a new silver clasp is 37.00. U know how things cost nowadays. Maybe almost the cost of the chain. Oh well it looks almost new, grand daughter will like it. It was freshly lost and I spotted it as I turned to swing that direction. I checked no one was headed there to look for it.

Actually it thought the charge would have been more… not sure of the value of the necklace, but you may be surprised.
I had the one I found repaired too and wear it.
Mine is the same design, but only 20”.

I got the chain back yesterday. The Jeweler tried to stiff me, said it was 56.00. I reminded her I was told 37.00 when I dropped it off. So she was good with that and honored the drop off quote. It’s on the way to my granddaughter in Florida along with a Starbucks gift card. I only have one so get to spoil her.
