Silver Magnet and an Unknown Tag (2015-01-12)

Once again Luke and myself hit the same beach, the Silver genie was there again Wink
A few coins, 2 x tags (1 x Samoa, 1 x unknown) and 2 x rings (Silver and SS) The water is defiantly warming up soon be just shorts in the water :)

Man, you've got to tell me step by step how you clean a ring like that. I throw away tons cuz I thought they were junk. That tag looks like a ww2 dog tag. It's not the American style cuz I have found them by a Marine Base in North Carolina. The old Us ones seems to be made out of brass because the sand would erode the names a little but the metal would not be corroded from the salt water. Yours doesn't appear to have a name on it so I would assume it was some sort of tag to identify which unit owned the gear that it was possible attached to at one time. I'm just guessing. . Keep digging, I'm very impressed.
