We headed back to the old Calvary site today with two Fors CoRe and a X-Terra 70 (The Fors Relic will be here at the end of the month)
Most of your outfit is commendable and in the arsenal of a few of the folks I hunt with. I liked the X-Terra 70 of all the X-Terra series, but that was compared with models I had that were available at the time, several years ago. I guess they are still 'OK' for many, and I put them in the 'average' or 'mid-performance'. group today. Not a 'beginners' detector, but certainly not up to the performance and versatility of the Nokta FORS and Makro Racer series, to be sure. I consider the X-Terra 70/705 and Teknetics Omega and White's MXT Pro to all 'fit' in that group as good detectors.
I know a few fellows who have traded or sold their X-Terra's this past year to get the FORS CoRe or Makro Racer, and one also got the FORS Gold + and is now awaiting a FORS Relic to add to his Nokta FORS detector battery. Until it arrives he still relies on his FORS CoRe for many places where he prefers the Di3/3-Tone search mode.

Absolutely gorgeous day- sunny and 75*
I am sure you have an offer from many readers to share your 75° weather. Oregon Gregg & I got out to an old ghost town site last Thursday & again Saturday here in Eastern Oregon where the day started out between 30° and 36° and hit a high of only ±56°, but with a chilly NW wind of 7 to 18 mph, and that kept us bundled up. We might not get into any 70's weather until sometime next month.
Arizona .... humm. Trying to find a good Welcome-to-Hunt Outing location for later this year, and might look farther south for something between latter October and mid-November. Maybe there's some elbow-room for a few folks down your way?

No eagle buttons this time but I scored a beautiful silver broach with some stones.
Oregon Gregg nabbed one Eagle Button, but I haven't found one yet this year.
Comment: That is a beautiful Silver Broach! Easily made a day successful.
Question: What cleaning method did you use for it?

We all found some 56 Spencer Carbine cases and a couple of un-fired cases and some Ox shoes. Rare finds in Central Arizona.
I haven't found any .56 cal. cartridge cases for several years. Often run into a lot of .44. Henry cases and occasionally some complete cartridges. Years ago when I first started working my all-time favorite ghost town in Utah when we first had decent detectors for dealing with iron debris, on almost every trip out to it I would find at least one old Eagle Button, and often four-to-six of them, and a wide range of early era cartridge cases, but those keepers eventually thinned out a lot.
Now that I moved to a much better location last October, I am closer to several military encampment sites, duration camps and a couple of fort locations that I am pretty sure are all on private property. Time for more research and trips to befriend the owners.

DI3, Sensitivity-85, ID Mask 10, 11" coil for the CoRe.
Once again, 'Thank You' from me and others who enjoy reading about coil selection and settings used. On the CoRe I have most of the programs set to start out at Sensitivity-'85' and ID Mask at '10.' The 7X11 I only use in the more open areas with sparse targets, because most of the places I hunt are extremely littered and the small
'OOR' coil does most of the work on that end of the detector. Due to the very trashy environments, with a lot of iron, I also like to use the Di3, 3-Tone search mode, but prefer Di2 for any old site with a limited amount of targets and near-by positioning.
I wish you the best of success on your next journey afield.
