I had a caller out of the yellow pages request a small job that took about 5 minutes to do and cost me $2.00 in the form of a report. I told him before I gave him a bill, I wanted to hear about his rental properties. He had two houses, one built in 1927 and the other about 1920. I traded him the cost of the little job for permission to hunt both places. It wasn't as good as I hoped by at least I beat my brother. We ended up with 36 coins and I got the only silver, a 43 Mercury.
The next week we hit some homes in a small town in southern Illinois. Two we hit before, one was fresh. We ended up with 28 coins, one silver, a 42 Merc that my brother got.
This past weekend we had some soaking rain and hit a home built probably in the early 50's. Brother picked up a 64 quarter for his first coin. We had 13 coins out of here, just the one silver. We then hit the old scout camp we have been pounding really hard for the past two years. The evil twin hit a 63 dime first coin and four pennies in very front that we must have missed totally in trips past. I keep looking for an hour coming up empty. Don't ask me how we missed this one but after an hour got a 1950 Ben Franklin half which was in great shape until I nicked the backside. Beautiful to see something like that minus the knick. We picked up a total of 7 coins out of here and called it a day.
The old scout camp has given up 298 coins of which 24 have been silver and 1 buff. What a silver to copper/glad ratio. Going to make sure we hit the 300 mark one of these days.
