Hi Guys! finally stopped raining here, so I went out to some old fishing sites to search for goodies. Man, The deer flies were so bad, they were biting me through my gloves and clothes. couldn't
stand it more than a few minutes, "wussed" out and left:nopity: (I read the posts about you folks and the "snakes",I will whine no more!) anyhoo, I went to town, I decided to let the silver mine rest for a while. I check out an old lot one block down from the secret spot. started finding zinc pennies 14 and 6 pennies from 59 to 64. I check an area next to an alley when my GTA 1000 shows a nickle
down 4". used my home made coin popper, out popped a 1945 D Nickle! :clapping:. 33% silver still counts doesn't it?. Lawn work today with the wife, tomorrow It's back to the mine...
All the posts about the AT Pro prompted me to sell some stuff on Ebay, should be able to see what all the hub bub is about, in a week or so! HH.....C-Dog

Silver is silver, indeed. If that is how you measure success, then you are a champion already.
Personally I would consider the War Nickle more of a trophy. They were among the first wave of coins to feel the melt pressure, many years ago. There are fewer and fewer of those than others, too, and there just weren't many to start with.

Thanks for the Comment Dave! It is my first War Nickle! A trophy it shall be! I figure I should come up with enough money in a week or so, and I will be the proud owner of a "AT Pro..:clapping

Yeah, Im working on one myself.

Some purists say a coin must be at least half silver to be called a silver coin. I think the technical term for what a War Nickel is minted in is billon. It counts in my book. Good find!
