Silver in my pocket

Active member
Went to the break room this morning and pulled out some change. In my change I found a 1945 silver quarter. I always check because you never know.

Nice find i think , where ever you find it.
Over here because of decimal coinage no coin in circulation is older than 1968.

Bring back

The way the economy is and loss of jobs more people are getting into their coin collection . Just a guess so keep an eye on the change you get back.

From year dot to 1968 we had pounds ,shillings and pence. There was 240 pence to the pound and there were (copper)farthings (.25p) (copper)halfpenny(.50p) (copper) pennies,(bronze)or(silver) threepennies,(silver) fourpennies(groats), (silver)sixpences ,(silver) shillings(12 pence),(silver) florins(2 shillings) , (silver) half crowns(2.5 shillings),(silver) crowns (5 shillings) and 4 of those = a pound and they used to be gold 22k Sovereign till the early part of the 20th century. Silver was silver till 1920 then 0.5 till 1946 then copra nickal till the time when we went to the system of 100 pence to the pound.

Anything to confuse all foreigners :)
