Silver Hunt

Larry and Nancy's club had their silver hunt yesterday. Larry was in charge and planned $1300 in coins, WOW!!! Nancy, our moderator, told me she got second this year. Congratulations Nancy, she usually wins because she can smell old silver. This sounds like a great story Nancy, lets hear about it. Rob

Yes, Larry was in charge of our big silver hunt. We had a lot of people participate for a great turnout. Lots of old coins and prizes from our Club and also White's donated a big hefty amount of prizes. VERY GENEROUS! Thanks Whites! There was over $1300 of coins in the ground along with tokens for prizes. Top person had a total of 69 targets and I had 52 which put me in second place and that was for the 4th and big hunt of the day. We had a poker hunt, key hunt and also a Franklin Half hunt. All in all, we had a great time. I came home with a couple of beautiful late 1800's silver dollars and about $150 in silver. We had a wonderful time, the weather was perfect and at the end of the day we had a pocket full of wonderful memories. I'll post some pictures when I receive them. Thanks for the time and HH to all, Nancy

I know Larry and Nancy both put a lot of time and effort in their club. The hunt just shows what a good club can do. I only wished I lived closer. Rob

Congrats Nancy. Did you use the MXT for the contest? I just made an offer on Willy's MXT 300 he has up for sale.

Hi C,
I sure did use the MXT. It's a fast tracking machine and you can sweep as fast as you're able. Let me tell you my arm is sore too! But well worth the pain......no pain, no gain! :detecting: Good luck on the MXT. HH, Nancy

Here's the coins I brought home from the Silver Hunt.
I did have a few Franklin halves but traded them for the Kennedy's so others could have the older ones.
Also gave quite a few odd and end coins to a fellow member to give to his son.
The nickels and wheat cents were part of a hunting game we played.
Thanks for looking and HH to all, Nancy

Wow nice!

I'm new on here and was looking through some of the posts. They actually have silver hunts? Does anyone know if there are any good clubs in Minnesota Twin Cities area or Mankato? Any suggestions would be appreciated.

Welcome to the MXT Forum. Yes, there's actually seeded silver hunts. You will have to look up clubs in your state and see if any of them participate in putting the hunts. Google FMDAC and they will have a list of clubs in your state if they're registered with them. Any club that's anything should be registered. You can go from there and good luck in finding a hunt. They're fun and exciting. HH to all, Nancy

There are some fine looking buffalo nickels there. What year are they?
They don't look very worn at all, except for one.
