[/img] Had been planning this for a couple weeks 2 days went with a friend that I have detected with for 50 years on and off tried some parks that to me seemed to be pretty clean compared to what I hunt in hard to find a junk pit here only a couple wheats .

Next day to some 1855 fairgrounds they were also pretty clean had to search for a couple hours for that trashy spot the ctx wanted to run at 12 for sense I was running at 19 at plus 3 used the 6 inch coil could here deep iron booming all the time but if you hit a coin it would show and pinpoint tried ground coin no difference so stayed in ferrous coin lowering sense no difference .

So my friend using the nox digs his first coin seated 1887 dime bucket lister for him he has a half dime but not a seated dime he says let's go I got what I was looking for . The intent of the trip was to get on some older ground and find what we can't where we live .

The coin was 5 inches deep gave a clue to the depth the good coins were at , I am glad he got the dime because that was the only silver he got but a good one .The nat's were bad all day in your eyes your ears where ever to much rain equals nat city lol. Found a Washington quarter at 2 inches deep on edge with a zincer 3 inches away crazy sound but high toning coming in at 12.41 two feet away clad quarter at 5 inches same as the next one  These are the coins I picked out of the trash he found only a dozen more wheats a couple of metals and one nickel . He was just happy with the dime he found and did not care wants to make another raid .

It was hot but the ground was easy digging which was nice left at 7 o'clock did not get home till 11.30 long drive to the border but the new to me farrari I found made the hoist go faster. lol hope you guys got out sube

Nice digs sube.-----Those stinkin gnats drove me off the field back there once about this time of the year at an old fair grounds.-----I know what you mean---they were TERRIBLE!----------Del

I been fixin’ cars pert near 3 decades and I ain’t NEVER seen no silver hoist! I’ve seen yellow,blue,red....no silver. You must’ve meant HEIST!:lmfao:
That’s a pretty sweet day Sube. Fairgrounds are certainly one of my favorites, simply because of the age and the fact that people BROUGHT MONEY FOR SURE! It’s not a guessing game whether or not it’s there, but it’s a guessing game whether or not you’re gonna find it! Hey, you know what? You found it!
