Had another good day today with the new mxt pro getting pretty good with this machine already! Have a question about a bell I found the bell has fancy engraving on it with a n and something else stamped on the bottom. Todays finds include a 1943 walking liberty half -A 1909 wheat cent no s or vdb :sad:Half a token dont know how it got cut in half-Six wheat pennies in all- A brass bell off of a horse collar-A old car -A mechanics helper pocket knife which was pretty rusted. A half locket that has half mons on it-1-quarter 3 dimes and several regular cents and a canadian cent. Also found alot of other odds and ins as seen in the photos.Ended up having to quit around 1 pm today because of the heat got up to 91 today was getting a little over heated digging up all those coins:crazy:

Here in NW Oregon it got up to a sweltering 63

Just purchased this machine about 3 weeks ago I am currently using the stock coil that came with the machine. I have been using presets on the machine in jewelry and coin mode and have found I am getting a decent depth on alot of the coins. I dug a indian head around 7-8 inches the other day with a fairly strong signal. I have found that some of the deeper and older pieces I have found register in the 50s through 80s range with the signal jumping around. I have started to dig most signals that indicate over 5 inches deep due to the way the machine jumps around on some of the coins. Have also found due to the amount of coal that was used to heat around the area that I have to ground balance often due to hot rocks. I have also hunted in some fairly trashy areas and found that if I go slower with the machine and get borderline signals I dig it I have found some pretty good stuff doing this. The first few hours of learning this machine was very trying due to the other models I have used in the past and I certainly have alot to learn but from what I have learned already I think me and my MXT will have alot of fun in the future! And Monte thanks for pointing out that your weather is so wonderful in Oregon :)

Great finds. I love that crotal bell. The "N" represents the size. They start at "A" I believe......smallest is the "A", next is "B", etc. That may also be the maker's mark. They would adorn their horses in the day. Also known as sleigh bells. Here's a good sight for the bells. Crotal Bells
