Silver for the third day in a row - with Whites DFX

Ohio Digger

New member
Figured I'd try a new spot today for the 2.5 hrs I had to hunt. There's a tiny little park in the town next to me that basically consists of a caged basketball court and tennis court, an open field, and a small playground. I've been looking over an 1874 plat map and thought there were 2 old home sites near that field. I started in the field but barely got any signals at all, good or bad. Found a couple clad coins but that was it. If there were old home sites I think they had been backfilled pretty well. There was nothing but clay and the fact that I was barely digging anything made me wonder too.

Since I wasn't making much progress in the field I decided to make some adjustments to the program I've been running. But instead of adjusting and testing, I adjusted and saved I got it completely out of whack but luckily had made a spread sheet with the original settings last week (but that spread sheet file was at home). So I decided to run the DFX in HI PRO mode with a few simple adjustments. I actually liked the sounds and recovery speed of this program quite a bit. It locked on to a 5" penny right off the bat. I ended up leaving the field and started walking back toward my car which was near the playground. About 20' off the playground it locked on to a 4" dime signal. I dug and out popped a 1963D Rosie That makes silver number 3 in 3 days. Each hunt no more than 2.5 hrs.
