Silver Falls, Oregon

New member
I visited a friend in Oregon in November and hiked in the Silver Falls State Park, a beautiful and amazing spot with about 8 or 9 falls in a four mile hiking loop. This is one of the smaller ones, but I think the drop is about 89 feet. I misplaced the memory card with the photos, but I was digging through my camera gear backpack tonight and found it. I'm glad I did. I didn't get a lot of good photos, but I liked this one the best.

the trails in our Parks? We have a member posting on this Forum that loves to hike the hiking trails in California. He has posted some beautiful slide shows . Thanks for sharing this picture, Kelley (Texas) :)

Another piece of heaven. Did you get into the water? Beautiful picture.

There are some areas of America that scream nature and beauty. This picture depicts just that.

Thank you all.

Vito: Yes, these are all natural falls and pour through channels they've eroded in the rocks.

Kelley: Yes, I do quite a bit of hiking and backpacking, but usually not in parks. Typically I hike in wilderness areas where sometimes they trails are pretty rough. I don't know how many more years I'll be doing that though as I'll be 56 this summer.

Nancy: I didn't get in the water. It was pretty cold that day. In fact if you look closely you can see ice from the spray on either side of the falls. As I remember it was around 30 degrees. The hiking trail actually goes behind the falls. You can see the trail just to the right of the fall and we got a little wet when we went through there. That was plenty for me!

Mason, I can see it now that you pointed it out. Thank you. Yes, that would be a bit nippy to say the least at that temperature. Your photographs are stunning and I thank you for sharing them. 56 isn't all that bad.
