Silver Eagle

I finally put down my CZ-3d and bought a older Whites detector. Have not been able to find any reviews on the Whites Silver Eagle and really don't know what I have, or how good it is. I have pieced together that it was a forerunner of the XLT and it looks similar. Could anyone tell me where to find a review of this detector, or tell me if it is any good. All I can find on-line is the Eagle Spectrum, which is a later line I think. Have started to find some things besides RUST and hope to find enough to purchase a newer detector at this rate in a year or so (LOL).
Happy hunting
Dan

Dan I found this link by JB(MG) on the Metal Detecting Forum here. Its a great list of dector manuals and is at the top of the forum.
Here's the one I think you need.

It's a very good detector..and works exceptionally well. It came out around the time as the Spectrum as an alternative lower priced detector.

Thanks all, I have been impressed with the Silver Eagle so far, What I was looking for is how it compares to the newer models. If they are better at finding items, I really have to get one! Managed to find out so far, they are a little heavier, likes to eat batteries, and has less options. Have found that my unit is well balance and the weight has not bothered me so far. A set of 4 C batteries will last 8 to 10 hours, which is a good day for me. And as I'm really just getting back into detecting a few less options is properly not bad for me also. Started detecting after I hurt my back as a kind of therapy twenty years ago, and hunted in the woods with a Compass which made me twist and bend. Doing the same thing again. The main thing is I'm finding things and that makes me happy. I have one question, should I consider getting a smaller bulls eye coil for this detector?

Really appreciate you opinions
Dan

...the silver eagle is a great detector. It was the first digital detector I ever owned. It was manufactured in the early 90's and and bridged the gap between the 6000 DI Pro and the Eagle series. Similar to the early Spectrums it is closely related to the modern day Quantum (QXT?). I really enjoyed mine and found my first breast plate and belt plate with it. Simple raw power. You've made a good choice!
