My first silver with the CZ-3D was an interesting one.
For the second time in the last couple months, I've dug a silver dime that I would have mistaken for clad had I not looked closely.
What made me look twice when I dug it was the whiteness I saw on the reeding. I scraped the reeding with my nail a bit and it became more pronounced. Sometimes I see that on the edges of pennies, but not on clad.
On closer inspection, I saw what looked like a mintmark on back and the date was 1963.
The clad I dig is usually more brown than this dime, often with tones of red. These silvers were more a dark gray. A little different than typical clad, but looking more like clad than silver.
Wonder how many of these I've unwittingly tumbled and rolled?
