Silver day.

I just got my Garrett ATPRO back from service for user damage to the detector at no charge. Another great service provided by Garrett service department. My buddy and I got the chance to hunt this pasture that had a church on it in 1854. It is gone now for many years. Someone has already done a thorough job of detecting it. we worked it with our Minelab SE PRO's for a couple of days and found 6 old coins of which 2 were silver. Today I put my 8.5X11 coil on and decided to do a thorough sweep of the pasture. I found some lead and a very old jackknife and then I got a signal that just about blew my earphones off. it read a quarter at 5 inches. I dug it and there it was a 1945 silver quarter with a D mint mark. It was in an area we had gone over very thoroughly but both had missed it. I only got a small area of my grid done today and plan on completely gridding the pasture. I know I won't find a lot of coins but I am sure there are more. I plan on continuing the use of the AT PRO because of the rapid recovery it provides. Thanks for reading.

The 5x8 coil will find more targets and pinpoints MUCH better than the larger coil. Sure it takes longer to cover area but I have found that the reason is
mostly that I am digging more targets. After using the 9x12 for over a year I switched to the 5x8 for about 4 months. I see no reason to go back except
on dry sand beaches.
