Silver Day At The Park 1/27/12

POLEWAGGER

New member
The weather FORCED me to hit my fav park Friday. (had no choice) Spent 80% of the hunt off the beaten path, on a quest for old coins or old lost jewelry. Shot a new vid for my YT channel "Polewagger", so that those who are unable to hunt, might enjoy the "vicarious" hunt through a video. Let me know if it's worth watching. Among finds are 2 silver Rosies and a few wheaties. The "Gorilla Coin" was from one of those machines that you put a penny into, turn the crank, and it transforms the penny into the die you selected. It's been a long time since they had one of those machines at the Zoo. I used to frequent Woodland Park as a child and still have my original "Elephant Key" that you used to turn on the "little green box" informational tape players they used to have in front of the animal cages.
Not a lot of coins for a 5hr hunt, but I had a blast.

Nice job, great video! Now you just need a tripod so you dont have to do the one hand dig. lol

Great silver day!!

Hey, I really liked watching your video. It helps with the boredom You have a great place to hunt.

I should be able get out and go detecting in a couple weeks. I will probably look really funny and awkward just using one arm, my left one at that.

I don't care, broke arm or not, I'm going DETECTING!:detecting:

Great video. I enjoyed it and will watch more if you make them. Ive been hunting the same type of areas in parks. Had some good luck at first, but now Im in a slump. Keep hoping to stumble onto a hotspot.

Glad you liked it!
Look what I found http://www.pennycollector.com/Details.aspx?location=1122

Guess they still have the machines there, I haven't been there for a LONG time.

What CAN'T you find on ebay??

Return trip to the same general area today.
Ran the 5.75"...different or more sensitive setting GB and disc is different also. Anybody else feel like the 5.75" is more sensitive?
I call it the "full meal deal" on the silver coin finds, including a wheatie...sweeet! :yo:

what camcorder you use?

Canon Vixia HF200
I rarely take it on hunts because I hate to get it dirty. Nice little unit. Fits perfectly into my water bottle pouch. It's got a remote, but it's too much for a helmet cam mounting. It's all I have, or there would be more vids for sure!
