Silver Coins & Rings / Other old relics

Finds are from the last 2 weeks or so at old city parks and schools and a city owned lot. The small silver kid's ring
was found at a park yesterday where I had gotten coins back to 1900 in the past. It was about 7 inches deep and read
like an Indian head penny and must have some good age to it.

Coins
Silver quarter is 1946
Silver dimes are 1926,1935,1936,1939,1941,1945,1951,1963
Nickels are 1910,1925,1940,1944 (silver war nickel), 1954,1954
Indian is 1906
22 Wheat pennies are back to 1916

Jewelry and Relics
Small silver kid's ring with red stone
Kid's Lion ring
Thick generic band ring
1920s Shrader Balloon Tire Gauge Tester
Top part of 1890s Oil Lamp (B & H Lamp)
Body by Fisher emblem (Early one - 1930s)
Very early Carhartt button (possibly pre-1900. I found a similar one online that was 1889)
Old suspender clip
John Deere 125th anniversary pendant (circa 1962)
2 1930s Washington state tax tokens
Reigns guide
Large ornate item must be some sort of gate post
Misc. buttons/tags

Very nice collection of finds. I especially like the heart with the old street car, the B&H lamp part and the little silver ring. Love the Etrac...

Hey Dave,
Love that silver ring and that lamp part. That has to be one of the coolest lamp parts I have seen. Really unique. Just a guess but that ornate piece resembles some that I have seen on period lamps and floor lamps. Really like the Shrader air gauge. I found one a few years back here. Very cool item.

thanks HPH!
yes, that Carhartt button is an old one and its nice to find items with patent dates on them.
Etrac is a great machine. The power of all its tones, separation and depth make it hard to beat.

Thanks Greg,
Originally I thought the small silver ring was a kid's ring but my wife seems to think it isn't. Just belonged to a smaller person. It will fit on my small finger and I have a bear paw for a hand.
Oh by the way I checked out one of your videos. Very cool intro and nicely made.

Thanks Dave. The first video was the first time I had even turned on a camera. I'm getting a bit better each time. Really enjoy making them. Just put out a new one Friday and will have another one out Tuesday morning. Thanks for compliments on the intro. I really like the way it turned out and glad to hear you liked it.
Greg.

More really great finds Dave. Thanks for the post and the pics.

A great bunch of finds - congrats !

Nice digs!

Carraige tag. I have one just like it. It took me years to find out what that came from. Believe it or not I finally found the exact same thing not on another carraige but ...wait for it.....

Its off a mopar automobile. You may be more familiar with the car called the Judge, or the Superbee. there are others.. On the side door panels in the middle of the threshold you lift your leg over to get in, look down and on the metal is the tag with the carriage tag.

I know, I thought for sure it was off a horse and buggy vehicle but NOPEEEEEEE its off a 1960 70s vehicle...

check it out and youll see.

after years of searching I stumbled on this at a car show in my town.... And that after alot of research with NADA.

You are right. It is a sill or scuff plate emblem but it is for GM cars and is for older models from the 40's-50's. It's a cool find for sure.

Hi Tony,
The answer to your question is I do both. When I hit a site I try to get a feel for how much is left by covering a lot of area first. If I run into a junkier area I will definitely slow down
and work that area. Large open areas that cant easily be patterned are my friend also as they can still hold something good. I definitely get a lot of walking in.
A majority of the time before my full day hunts I will do research on 2-3 spots that I think can still hold something old which gives me a bearing on where to go. I may also run into something that looks
promising on the way.

Do you just kind of march along swinging your coil at a moderate pace or do you go to where the trash is and try to find your goodies?

Nice finds! I think fisher made body's thru the 70's into the 80's,owned by GM decades before that but still used the tags.
