Silver cleaning polish.

Hey fellows............While I was over in Eastern Washington detecting, the wife and I stopped in this antique mall and I picked up this bottle of silver polish. It's a very mild liquid and it works realy great. I had a silver quarter that was almost black and with very little effort this stuff made her shine like new. They have a website www.howardproducts.com if you want to check it out. I'm not promoting their product, but I am always looking for good silver cleaning products and this one works really well. HH.

Thanks rick. I wasn't suggesting to use any kind of a cleaner on a coin that could be rare and I'm sure most of us know that it's not the thing to do..........:)

I see on E Bay it is $4.25 for a 8 oz bottle plus shipping which is over $4 up here in ND. Looks like there is some brass cleaner too made by Howard Pine-Ola

Things might be cheaper on E Bay Rick, but then with the shipping it's probably going to be higher than if you can find it in a store someplace. On the Howards website they do list some places that are dealers for their products. You might check with any hardware or antique stores and see if they have it or can possibly get some. I see they make several different products and if the brass cleaner is as good as their silver polish then you might want to give it a try also. HH.

Rick,

I see there is a place in Fargo that carries it. Northport Tru Value Store is supposed to carry it. Not sure on the price. I would'nt mind picking up a bottle myself.

I never use anything at all on any silver coins except soap and water but could be interesting to see it compare to normal silver polish on rings. Bring it to the next meeting and I'll try a dab on a ring.
