Silver and Old GOLD!

New member
hunted an old farm yesterday and I got a crusty indian, so bad I didn’t even picture it, 1900 V nickel, silver Washington, a couple buttons, a copper ring, a set of air force wings, and the find of the day was the gold ring, stamped “solid gold” From what I can find online it is from 1800’s before they were required to stamp what karat gold it was. The ring came in at a solid 12-24

Great finds! I have been digging 12-24's forever and have the shotgun head stamps to prove it. LOL Perhaps today will be the day for me. Congrats again on the great finds and HH.

That ring is a heck of a good find and I really like the air force wings. Yes, from what I quickly found online the ring was made approximately
1898 and one company (Providence Ring Manufacturing Co. of Rhode Island) used that SOLID GOLD marking to designate a certain karat.

I guess that 12 - 24 means it is 24 K gold! Looks like it has some heft to it. Nice job.
