Silver and gold.:clapping:

Headed over the mountains for four days about 200 miles from my home for our first camping trip of the year. Got up early Sat morning and headed for this old pioneer park. I grabbed my borrowed XS out of my truck and put in my rechargeable battery pack and off I went. Headed for this big old tree and got a real faint signal. After about ten minutes of digging and hidden under one of the trees roots I pulled out a worn 1898 Barber quarter.:clapping: I'm thinking man I found a good spot and where there is one there has to be more. After about another 15 minutes my detector shut down. Went back to my truck and grabbed a fresh battery pack and nothing!!! Tried another pack and my machine would turn on and then shut down almost immediately. I kept trying and no matter what I did my machine would just shut down so I raised the white flag and to say the least my detecting for the deep stuff was done for this trip. I had my old Predator II with me, but she doesn't go very deep and decided to try some school playgrounds. Ended up with a nice 14kt gold charm and a 10kt gold ring and about $5 in clad. I found the old razor at a old house that was partially torn down. Cleaned it up and found on the internet that it was made in the 30's and 40's. I have found old razor handles or the the top part in the past, but this is my first complete old razor and thought it was kind of cool. The beat news now is that I got a call from Minelab yesterday and my XS is all repaired and should be here on Sat.:clapping: The sad news is that my buddies XS that I borrowed may need to be sent into Minelab for some work also as it was doing some of the same things that my XS was doing. Had a good trip for the most part and I plan on going back to this park down the road. Thanks for looking and as always HH.

Cool finds, Eddie!

Sorry to hear about your friend's XS.

By the way, did ML tell you what the main problem with your machine was? I'm curious....battery springs, board,....??

Thanks GR. Sure wish my borrowed XS would have lasted longer, but glad to at least snag that Barber.:bouncy: I'm hoping it's only bad contacts in my buddies XS cause it cost me $135 to get mine fixed. Had my colonoscopy last Thursday and no polyps or any sign of cancer so that is a big relief. Take care buddy and HH.

Thanks Dan. I'm hoping my buddies XS is just having bad contact problems in the handle. Mine was more serious as they replaced the handle contact springs and also the touch pad keyboard and some other electrical stuff. She should be good as new when I get her back. HH.

Thanks Rich. No problem posting as that is what this forum is all about and the nice thing about finding the old stuff is being able to share it with everyone on the forum. HH.
