Been busy hunting with the Equinox 800. Been having fun trying out all the settings and having a ball. Definitely a fun machine and boy can it find the goods!!!
Thanks for looking. - Jim

10 lbs 5oz worth of Wheat and IH cents, clad and misc items.

Man Jim.. I knew you had been finding a lot of silver coins lately, but did not realize how many until seeing them all together!
You have been one digging fool lately!!
Very nice results with that Equinox!!!

That is quite an impressive haul in silver coins and nice silver jewelry - congratulations! How long have you had the Nox 800? Just curious. Best of luck and...

Happy Hunting!

Thank you Mr. Squirrel. I've had the machine for 1 year.

What a haul Jim. I like to hear you are trying the settings, want to share any favorites?

Hi Jeff,

I mainly run Park1
Always use 50 tones
Nothing notched out hence "all-metal" mode
ferrous volume set at 1
non-ferrous volume set at 25
sensitivity set at minimum 23 or higher (depending on trash content)
iron bias - 0
recovery speed 4

These above settings have truly "re-opened" my hunting spots. You have to go slow like BBS / FBS slow (maybe a tad faster) however it will pay off. "message" iffy signals. If they start climbing even by only a few digits, you better dig. I have found over a hundred wheat pennies with this method at a "worked out" park. For example, I receive a TID of 20. I center the best I can over the target and start performing small sweeps over the target. (think sovereign wiggle) If that tones starts rising (I would dig a 22 anyway but when that target rises in TID 22,23,24,25 every single one turned out to be a wheat cent. I also came across a TID of 21 and the target tone / TID kept dropping out on me. I pinpointed and got right over the center of that target then performed small sweeps (again think sovereign wiggle) that 21 shot up 21,22,23 and stayed pretty consistent. I knew then I was definitely digging. Out popped a 1903 IH cent from this "worked out" park. I feel (including myself) I was moving too fast even though the Equinox has a high recovery speed. Hunters that own this machine need to slow down and use it like a BBS / FBS machine. THEN they will see the results of this new technology.

park2 or Field2
50 tones
"all-metal" mode
ferrous volume set at 1
non-ferrous volume set at 25
sensitivity set at minimum 23 or higher (depending on trash content)
iron bias - 0
Recovery set at 8 (yes that is :geek:

Amazingly, I have gone back to some horrible iron trashy spots and high mineralization areas and was pleasantly surprised. I found many wheat cents and silver dimes utilizing these settings. Even though I am "preaching" above with my other settings, there are times a faster recovery will be beneficial especially if they deal with high mineralization.

Give these settings a try and I would like to hear your thoughts / results - Jim

I like the idea of setting the ferrous volume to one. The recovery of eight will produce some amazing finds in the right ZONE :detecting: Thanks for sharing.

You Connecticut guys are tripping over the silver..lol... nicely done...
Lol we do ok I use similar settings all metal mode but I switch up park and field modes I mainly use 5 tones and like he said if those numbers jump you better dig
Mark...

I also want to point out these finds (at the beginning of my post) have come areas well beaten down by others. Me, I just keep hammering on them hoping more goods cough up. Overall, I am truly impressed with the Equinox's performance and its ability to sniff non-ferrous out of ferrous.

Well keep it up and I just showed my son the 6" coil and I have a place to try it at... Just have to see If I have the patients lol....

I had the 6" and used it some but ended up selling as the 11" coil doesn't miss much at all. Don't get me wrong, that little 6" coil goes deep!
