Well, I had a couple hours free this evening so off to the park! My first hour or so it was slow and only produced some clad and this nice sterling silver catholic cross. Then decided to head across the river and try along the bank. found 3 wheat cents.
Then something told me to head over to the side of the old swimming hole. Although it has been beatin' to death over the years, including yours truly, it was time to put the sovereign to the test. bam, bam.... the wheats started coming up.Some of these signals I really had to work to get to come up in volume and ID. Badly crusted wheats but I guess I would look like that if I was stuck in the ground for 100 years lol. found a 1910, (2) 1911,1914, 1920, 1927,1929, 1942-D, 1944 and 1948.
Depth: A few were 7- 8" deep most were in the 5-6" range.
Hopefully I can pull some silver out of this area. Looks promising with this many wheats....there has to be a piece of silver in there right? lol.
I only hit about a third of the area so I know what to do. The sun was sinking rapidly and I am in the absolute worst section of town....
Time to pack it in and call it a day.
Thanks for looking - Jim
