Well it was cold & the wind blew all day but I fought the cold & hit a lot I have been scouting out for the last few weeks. Got permission from the care taker & hit it for about two hours. The site is an old house that was built in the 30's. I started off with a few wheat's (ended up with 12 total) no key dates & the oldest was 1920. I finally got a good dime signal & pulled up a 1935s then a 44 & 45 merc. While in the back yard I hit a scratchy signal & dug it, at first I thought I might have my first 2 cent piece but I couldn't tell so off to the house to clean up my finds. The mercs of course clean up real nice with just a little water the wheat's will take some time.

The 1907 seated dime in the pic is one I found last week & it was so corroded that I had to do a little electrolysis on it and it came out quite good. The other large disc is a 1935 Utah deer tag, and of course another large silver ring. The 5c I need help on it is the same size as a nickle & all it has on either side is 5c no date nothing. At first I thought it was a play coin but those I have found in the past say play money. The 5 looks like an old script & the edges look like a coin. Any ideas?

That's a mighty fine stock pile there Bula. :yikes: I bet every time you found a keeper, you got a bit warmer. :detecting: You were H-O-T! I bet you can't wait to go back again either. The 5 cent coin looks to be a game token. Great finds all around! How many rings have you found this year? Way more than I have for sure. HH and thanks for sharing, Nancy

Ya I was getting warmer thinking about the silver, I have a friend that has found a lot of old coins but he only looks for new change now saying that if you find two quarters that is equal to a silver dime. I don't think like that, if it is old I like it, & you are right I can't wait to hit it again even though I went over it Pretty good. I had the 4x6 coil on & did find a few wheat's the second time around. I will put the 6x10 on & hit it again.

As for the rings I think I am up to 20 to 25 silver & six gold, My daughter, daughter in-law and the two grand- daughters keep the rings picked through as well as the other trinkets I find. I took the last ring I found to the jewelers today to see what is was worth. It is 14k with a diamond that is very good quality. He told me that if I wanted to sell it he could get around $800 to $1000 just for the stone. I have tried to find the owner & have checked with the parks super & the local cops but it has never been reported lost, so I guess it is mine to do with as I please.
