Well it was cold & the wind blew all day but I fought the cold & hit a lot I have been scouting out for the last few weeks. Got permission from the care taker & hit it for about two hours. The site is an old house that was built in the 30's. I started off with a few wheat's (ended up with 12 total) no key dates & the oldest was 1920. I finally got a good dime signal & pulled up a 1935s then a 44 & 45 merc. While in the back yard I hit a scratchy signal & dug it, at first I thought I might have my first 2 cent piece but I couldn't tell so off to the house to clean up my finds. The mercs of course clean up real nice with just a little water the wheat's will take some time.
The 1907 seated dime in the pic is one I found last week & it was so corroded that I had to do a little electrolysis on it and it came out quite good. The other large disc is a 1935 Utah deer tag, and of course another large silver ring. The 5c I need help on it is the same size as a nickle & all it has on either side is 5c no date nothing. At first I thought it was a play coin but those I have found in the past say play money. The 5 looks like an old script & the edges look like a coin. Any ideas?
