Mike, actually the land in question belongs to a church in town. They bought the land with the future intention of building a new church. And when they tore-up main street a few years back, they moved
(and spread out) most of the old fill in this spot to use in the construction. Issues with having enough funds has left the lot empty up to now. So I have the run of the place :detecting:

Anyways, being where you are in southern MN, I would think that you would have some nice, old spots to hunt. And plenty of much older coins that I could never hope to find way up here.

You expecting the snow will be permanent for the season Now Dave......... ?

Elton,

Our ground should have been frozen solid shortly before or after Halloween. This year has been a fairly rare exception, and I had actually put my detecting gear away for the season almost two weeks ago. When I saw high 40's for the last few days I was back in action ... :detecting: ..... Now unfortunately, things are truly going downhill. With over an inch of snow on the ground this morning, and daytime high temps of 25 expected by mid next week. I'm not holding my breath for another hunt, but it would be nice to go "just one more time" ..

Silver always makes for a great hunt. Wow, glad you are still able to hunt and dig. That is pretty amazing. Ice fishing is just around the corner, though.:) HH jim tn

Thanks ...

Yes, we are officially frozen-in. And yes, ice fishing is just around the corner. I'm going on a 3-day fishing trip down to Lake Mille Lacs in mid-december.
