Silver # 5

RICKinFLA

New member
my fifth piece of silver today about an hour b4 dark, a 64 quarter in incredibly great shape until i scratched it with my hand digger you can even see the eagle chest feathers on the back a 54 wheat ,a canadian penny that says 1 cent and 1867-1967 under an eagle. a couple clad dimes a small copper washer that sounded off from 5 inches, the quarter came from 7 inches and shined just like the day it was dropped and a couple copper pennies post wheat era i just don't dig zinc bottlecap readings, oh well HH

Rick i was born in 64,slow down you are getting to good now! leave some silver in the ground, what are you going to do with all that silver? I heard the Spaniards lost a lot of it in the 16 & 1700's.You know they did own Florida,I know what you are up to!

Those silver quarters are always a treat to see in the pile of dirt, they don't come often enough.

dmc your right not often enough,i have been reading bottle and relic hunting forum about dating civil war era coins and i have no doubt whatsoever the 64 silver quarter was dropped in 1964 45 years in the ground and the quarter just has brilliant detail on it. and im sure was dropped real soon after it was in circulation.
