Hi! The F70 is a good machine for sure, and there are a few guys on here who are F70 gurus. Enjoy your new machine.

Congrats and welcome aboard!

You might search tabman's posts with him using the sharpshooter on his F75.
Mudpuppy, Elton and Revier all have had good luck with the 11" DD, and I understand the sharpshooter responds similarly.

You can tune an F70 to be close the same as an F75, just the F75s processes get you there quicker.

This group is very helpful, especially with the F70. There is a learning curve to it. But there are quite a few here that can help you through.

Good luck & HH

Welcome! I'd like to see what you found with your 70 on its first set of batteries!...Where are you at in the World? like Wulf said, just holler if you have any questions, or definitely if you figure out some new trick with the 70 we might try....we are all learning together about what this thing can do...

Gotta luv demand matchbox/hot-wheels cars. They do ring out with a good "what the heck" tone when you hit them.

Those gurus made my decision to pick up the F70 justifiable------------After-1

I am not one of the Gurus ............. but would suggest you go with preset and tweak as you move along.

Sens...discrimination... threshold, etc. till you find what works best.. Always ground balance if possible. In really heavy trash use preset GB as it will work better than a GB of ground targets if you can't find clean ground.

Some suggest all metal or practically no disc...I'm not one of them..Use disc to eliminate what you do not want to dig, and you'll have more fun detecting for longer periods with less digging.......
Don't misread what I am saying.0 disc or low dis is great in the right areas. But if your digging 50 pieces of gum wrapper, and foil to 5 coins ratio. Disc. is the way to go..

shadowulf-right about "what the heck" the trans am was down 5'' and I was at a old amusement park that closed down in the early 30's. -----------after1

OK Elton , you are off the guru list--------lol------ I ground balance quite bit, when I started reading about the f70 I would wright down settings--I have 19 right now, I run low disc, sens mostly 40-60- thres -1-2-3 sometines notch, hardly ever tone 1 mostly 3-4. the sweet beep swinging both ways,I'm on my knee. The places I go,some are hit hard. One place I go to is a playground that is maybe 2 acres, not to much has changed in the 50+yrs and I have never pulled any silver out. I don't think I have the right setting yet, still fun though. ------2 more pics -------The milk bottle is some of the finds with the CZ6a
