Signature Ring?

Spanky

New member
We had a very mild two days and the snow & frost are gone.

I hit my favorite beach for 3 hours and snagged a ring with my 550.

Strange ring. The inside band says 10k and I'm baffled with the stone. :shrug:Very dull looking stone (lead?) which under a magnifying glass looks engraved with the head of what looks like an Indian.

Coins are all new...nothing old.

Cheers!

I believe the stone is something called specular hematite. Properly polished, it has a beautiful mirror-like sheen. Only problem is its very brittle and tends to shatter quite easily. I could be mistaken, but that's what it looks like to me.

I never heard of that stone before I'm going to search the web for info on it. I'll have to see if my jeweler can clean it up for me.Right now its a very dull stone with no shine.Ring is stamped 10k.
