Had my Explorer at an 1836 era site where a commercial distribution center has been torn down. Machine was going crazy. All kinds of tones in very small sweeps. Is this due to the trash in the ground? If so, is there a way to reduce the warbling?

Noise cancel, and lower the sensativity to 20. If still really eratic, try auto sens. Hope this helps.

Could just be loaded with trash from the building, tough conditions to hunt with any machine.. if thats what it is about the only way to hunt them is with small coils and maybe run a coin only program, but those big pieces of steel read in the coin range anyway.. I've hunted a gew places where they leveled huge factories and between the steel and big iron it can drive you outta there in a hurry
