Can anyone tell me how to recognize the good targets that are near trash vs iron targets that sound like coins (ie: nails)
How do you tell the difference between the two. What are some of the tricks, I am new to the etrac and am still learning lots. Thanks

I look for a target that is repeatable in one spot. Iron falsing will give a signal only in one direction, and it's location jumps around.

Here's the link you're referring to.

If there's a good target mixed in with some junk targets I just keep kind of "wobbling" the ET back and forth in smaller and smaller swings - then I do the same again off on a 90 degree angle - till I'm sure I've isolated the good target. Then just dig the good target that's under the middle of the coil after you have checked from two different angles.
This works really well when you can't use the ET's Pin Pointer because of the multiple junk targets that are close by.
Isolating the good target in a field of junk takes a little practice - but it becomes really easy after you've done a few times!
