Signal Balance & pre Amp Gain ???????????

Elton

New member
Are they the same with different names .Is Pre-amp gain like the old on front of Whites machine knob that adjusted front end Coil output ?????

.................... It's seeming to me the more I read about V3i Pre-amp gain it is the same.if so the mystery is gone for me..

Transmit power is the same unless Boost is chosen. RX Gain is the first amplifier on the received signal, amplifying everything that is coming back to the coil including ground noise and EMI as well as target information. After amplifying the signal, it is processed and split into the All Metal channel and the Discrimination channel where you can fine tune each channel independently of each other with the Sensitivity adjustment.

Signal Balance as I know it, is old terminology for Ground Balance. Pre amp gain again is old terminology for RX Gain on the V3i.

So it still amps up the return signal for processing . Thus in theory adding depth and or Better ID capabilities.. TX Boost satrurates ( SUPER CHARGES) the coil with more output for punching into the ground in theory..but one has to be careful AS with the BRIGHT headlights in fog. too much, and it blurs or smears the return and could cause less readable signal.
