Sierra Madre

Has any one any experience with this detector ?
It's rated for deep targets like relics but also can be used for coin hunting.
Comes with 9.5 coil and battery life 16 hours.
Am interested if jewelry can be found with it also.
6.5 kh so coils would be interchangable with XLT.
Would be interested on any info anyone has had with this detector !
Thank you in advance ....

The Madre is a basic All Metal detector used primarily for industrial use. You can hunt relics under certain conditions and even coins but the meter just shows intensity only. No target ID or Discrimination. You would be much better off getting the 5900 SL on the Classifieds for $270, one of the best Relic and coin hunter machines made.... IMHO The 5900 is also known as the Blue and Grey for relic hunting.

Thanks Larry for the info,
Actually picked up that 5900 a few weeks ago from my dealer someone traded it in on a DFX
Waiting for a coil cover before I use it as the person that had it before was a scrapper and the bottom of the coil is badly marked.

i have one.... i put a magnum force 15" on it..... if i understood correctly.... the magnum lets you get dow about 2 feet.... my intention was to hunt for canon balls.... instead.... i have found every other.... large....twisted..... corroded..... rusted.....piece of trash..... made of metal.... that mankind ever invented......
so it DOES work.... lol......

Not that long ago... our delaware club... The First State Treasure Hunter's... teamed up with Bravo...A new Jersey club.... and a bunch of archaeologist's.... who stood around and watched us.... dig through two diffrent revoloutionary battle feilds.... i had my Sierra Madre with the magnum force 15.... it was makin any other detectors to close to me have a pulsing sound... so i had penty of room..... NO canon balls.... but i did find two haves of a rusted in half horse shoe.... an indian head penny... and a silver reale.... the reale was almost smothed off.... it had a bend where the date was.... which was still there.... 1776... the date of the battle.... the archaeologist's were baffled.... they said that that coin wasnt in use till way after the battle happened..... i suspect it was dropped after the battle..... people do go back to burry their dead and clean up such places.... in any event.... i was the only coin finder that day..... and i'm 9,000 % sure.... i'll never get a lick of credit for it....but i had alot of fun...:clapping:
