Sierra Madre Detector/ Simple conversion ??????

Elton

New member
For all you guys & Girls wanting a New XL Pro Check it out on Whites Site..A simple meter change display and I bet it's a XL-Pro on Steroids ( ALL Metal) maxed out 6000..series.... Might even be able to buy the meter back plate for XL-Pro Pro-xl from Whites..Just a thought Look it over, and give us your thoughts too. Most of us ran Xl-pro in all metal anyway..Meter did the discrimination for us....

What do you think Larry (IL)?????????????

Industrial and
Serious Deep
Treasure
Hunting
Specialized for large metal objects. Analog circuitry and fine tuning controls to reach way down.

A great White's metal detector for searching large metal objects at greater depths. Use the optional 15" search coil to reach an impressive 5 foot depth.
P/N 800-0318

FEATURES
9 1/2" search coil standard for depth.

Sorry Elton, I'm at a loss of knowledge about the Sierra Madre. Carl??

I used to swing a 3900 Coinmaster. The Sierra looks like the old 3900. I used to have a 5900 Coinmaster. The 3900 didn't have near the capability the 5900 did. I just don't think the guts in the SM would be close to the 6000's guts.

Ok thought you might know...Seems the Sierra model is based on 6000 series maxed out in all metal..I know a few of the older Sierras could interchange the face plate with the wide body style..I wondered if the New Sierra could do the same...if it could a lot of people might jump on this machine..Everyone likes and wants a pro xl- xl pro model..

Looks like an XL Pro to me with different meter and no discrimination Description below copied from advertisement

The White"s Sierra Madre metal detector was made with one thing in mind: Maximum depth. Nothing will stand in your way with this metal detector in your hands - not even the price!

Easily one of the deepest and most affordable metal detectors from White's Electronics, the Sierra Madre does not use any type of filtered discrimination. This allows all the power to go directly to the 9.5" search coil that comes standard with each machine, or the 15" coil you can upgrade to later for even more depth! Fully automatic ground balancing, low and high output modes, and a pinpointing trigger are just a few of the features this deep-seeking metal detector features. And with functions clearly marked in both English and Spanish languages, this detector is easy to use despite its powerful technology!

I just scanned the manual for the first time. You could be right? Maybe that's why it costs so much? Monte V. would know for sure.

The Sierra Madre is a spin-off of the 6000 series, but runs all-metal only. The PCB was optimized and all the unused 6000 circuitry removed, so there is no way to make a SM into an XLpro.

Yes, I know lots of folks want an XLpro. Still looking at how we might make this happen. No promises.
