Here is my problem... I can use my V3i in Jewelry Beach mode and pin point with no problem, when I pull the trigger it pin points back and forth and side to side perfectly.
When I use any other program, Coin, Coin Jewelry, Deep Silver exc.... It finds the object, but when I pull the trigger to pinpoint, it makes a steady hum and I am only able to pin point side to side Not up and down? I just got it back from Whites, for this same problem, and they up graded the software to the V3i series for free........ It was sent in for the same reason before, and they put a new loop on it for me and said it was all set...... Now my waranty has run out.... what to do now??

I don't understand. You said, you just got it back from Whites and they said it was working fine. You made them aware of the problem correct? I have never heard of this problem.

If it was sent to Whites with the problem, I'm sure they will make good on it. Strange things happen, but I don't see how it can work in only one program. Is the pinpointing using a different setup then the other programs? I must be missing something!!!!!

Is your VCO turned on in the other programs?

I am curious if you were using a different detector in the past with a concentric coil. The D2 takes a little getting used to, as it is a DD coil.

The advise above regarding VCO is important as well.

Try to set up all of the settings in COMMON that you want to use in all programs if you like to jump around and try the others out. That way you do not have to try to remember what settings are used in each program.

This same post was on another forum and the problem was solved yesterday afternoon. Yes, VCO being off was the problem.

I always nice to find out the results of the advice that was given..
