Shutter lag

I chased a black & yellow bumble bee around the yard for about 15 minutes and never did get a good shot. It was always at the next flower by the time the shutter opened. Next time I'll lock the focus and exposure, that might be faster. Anyway this guy held still. I'll try a darker background next time. Dave

You'd think those little critters would cooperate a bit more for you and hold still. Maybe you need one of those photographer press badges that says your from "Bugs Life" magazine or something. Or you could just do what Royal does, stick 'em in the freezer for a spell, that always slows them down. <img src="/metal/html/wink.gif" border=0 width=15 height=15 alt=";)">

Shutter lag is a bitch!
Just bought a D70 Nikon and it has a slight shutter lag. Guess I'm just used to the "Hot Rod Digital Cams"
LOL
The D70 is nice but to small for my big arse hands. It creates a nice file and handles on camera flash in program mode alot better than most digitals. It still gives you better skin tones when you manually white balance just like any other digital. All in all it's a great camera for the price. Susan loves it.

take a little jam and put it out where the hornets can get at it. I have seen them stand still for a dozen shots.

Not having any trouble finding targets, just can't get them in motion. Took a bunch of shots at flying things today but none were right on(darn lag). I'll keep trying.
Here's a fireplace(stove?) in NV. I shot with old camera in June. It's over 8' to the stack. Dave
