Ground is really frozen over in Indiana :thumbdown: So i headed to the woods behind my house.. Towards the middle of the woods, sets an old stone fireplace,, The area has yet produced a good coin,,, But i believe it has potential.. I have found some buttons from the 1800's.. Everything i have found has been shallow... Well today i got a sweet sounding tone around 9 inches deep... I though YES coin for sure... Broke through the couple inches of frozen dirt.. got closer and closer,, then popped this odd shaped object out... If anyone has a clue what it is PLEASE help lol it has nothing on the backside but a indentation,,, The circle area,, That is about the size of a Quarter has some writing all around the edges,, on the middle it said C I or C T then H E inder the HH it's actually both are words but because of corrosion,,, I'm having problems reading.... If anyone has a idea what it is... please help
 
No It's not made of lead,.,, It's to hard ... Your guess is as good as mine... I'm stumped lol
 
Soo i did make out what the lettering on the inside is... It has United Stated reversed on the edge "SETATS DETINU" a reef like the back of a Barber Dime.. With some words in the middle of the reef i can make out.... I'm still wondering what the heck it is,., Maybe a stamp or punch of some kind :confused:
 
And I suspect what you have is indeed a STAMP or something similar.

Im in Indy too, and boy did we get pounded with ICE.... today 48. Winter is not the fun i remembered as a child.
 
You'll find old stone fireplaces in the woods if the site used to be an old boy scout campsite. I found a merc by one a few years ago. As for the find, I dunno.
 
Yeah I am really sure that it is an old wax stamp of some kind,,,, It's a pretty neat find... Newby for me lol
