Shrill Sound

Hi, was out at Big Rec (location in the Golden Gate Park in San Francisco) and was using my SE with the Pro coil. After setting the sensitivity (ended up at 21) to get a good balance I started off with a fairly stable unit and began detecting. I picked out a couple of memorials at about 4 and 5 inches with no difficulty. Then I began getting a real shrill high pitched sounds like a bottle cap on the surface (loud signal) with the cursor buried in the right top corner with only the bottom left corner of the cursor visible (seemed to be overloaded). I could move to other locations, steps away, but would encounter the signal again after a few moments of detecting. The grass was wet, and I did notice an accumulation of water between the coil guard and coil. Also the wet clippings of the grass were piling up on the coil. Could this have been and issue? Had to go to work so I was unable to find out what was causing it. Any help would surely be appreciated. Thanks, Ricky D

That was a likely cause. I bet when it dries out, it will be fine.

Some of the guys in my area informed me of the rusted pipes that give off a 00-31 signal and bury the cursor!! Thank you all for your input, appreciate any help I can get. Rick
