I hunt in CJ Mode most of the time. When I hit a strong signal for a penny in this mode I often check the find before digging using Relic mode. The signal comes back as a buckle. This means to me that the depth of the target is much deeper than the depth shown on the old mxt. So I dig the target and I am down 8" on a 4" indicated depth and still no end to the signal.
My question is.... do others check by switching to relic mode from cj mode on loud targets showing for example a penny? Some of those deep beer cans can reek havoc on an otherwise productive day!
I find a lot of quarters register as a buckle or sometimes just a button. My favorite is the quarters, they just bang out at 83 and are usually what the detector indicates on the initial scan. 1 Quarter = 25 digs of pennies. Yepper
Found a ring today on a penny indication at an elementary school on a hot 93 degree florida day.
