Found targets on a very short hunt on a pounded Plantation site. The depth of the small coil is out standing with one large Wanker coat button at a measured ten inches.

Nice work!
I pick my FR up on Monday. Can't wait.
How did you set up your tone break settings? Did you have a chance to mess with the different settings much? Thanks!

Dean

Deep mode, 60 sensitivity, 39 tone break, iron volume 1. A ton of square nails so these settings worked well with the small coil.

I run the deep one today, just left on factory settings. with big coil. found a few small things. what im not sure of is the tone brake and id masking or I mask

I have found that when you break the tone at 39 most iron and modern trash will sound off with a low tone. All other non-ferrous signals sound off with a higher tone in relic mode.

Going to try the tone brake at 39, how about the other two? leave at factor? It dont miss much in the deep mode.. I need to find some old home sites to hunt with it. Walking around in these old camps is hard to find much, have to walk three days to get over a good bullet or button. hard to learn a machine these days not digging like we use to .

Unless mineralization is a problem put the iMask setting at zero. I prefer to hear everything so I leave the ID Mask at 5 and the Iron Volume at 2 or 3. As for tone break : In DI3 you can only change the mid to high tone setting. I like it at 70 because IHPs/ wheaties will come in in the low 70s and I want those to be high tones. The copper buttons I dug yesterday came in in the 60s. In DI2 you can set the tone to break where ever you want there to be a low to high break. I left it at 20. But I think that will vary with the site and the type of trash there.
