Should knobs spin 360 on 6000 Pro di SL

Move over a little, new one coming in!

Been reading this board for a little while and it looks like some friendly folks on board. I am new to this having never done it before and no one to tutor me locally that I know of.

I purchased a Whites Coinmaster 6000 di Pro SL used from a guy about 30years old (you'll see age connection in a minute) When I try using this I can hear plenty of activity in my ground but as I turn some of the knobs I notice they spin 360 degrees. Is that normal? This machine looks to be brand new, may have had a lot of closet time? Because of this guys age I am wondering if he may have let young children play with this thing and they twisted the knobs too hard causing them to spin 360....not all the time but much of the time. His ad said all the machine needed was cleaned up and aligned? What type of "aligning" would be done on these machines?

I've enjoyed reading your civil board and hope someone can help me out.

None of the knobs on mine turn 360 degrees. Don't think they built any (black boxes) with the 10-turn-knobs. You might pull a knob off & be sure it's not stripped.

Sounds like the knobs got stripped...You could replace them yourself if you could find the exact matches, but best to let it go and wait for another detector...Plenty of 5900 and 600s on the for sale/trade site now...
