Hi just getting back into again and just bought and tried several detectors.
Sold the X70 and x705. Tesoros.
Used fisher F5 on the way.
From now on I'm keeping one at home all the time.
If you sell and can't come across something you want then you lose a lot of detector hunting time.
I was going to buy the Musketeer which I can buy used right now and talked to two who want to sell.
Not to sure if it's that good.
when I get paid again in two weeks I could buy the GT. I'd have enough to buy a new one but most likely would buy a used one in great shape.
any opinions.
I heard the musky is pretty good.

Forget the Musky, with all due respect. If there is one machine that is good for everything kind of hunting, get the Sovereign. If you feel that it is not what you want, let me assure you that there will be plenty of people who will relieve you of the burden, including me. It is the greatest basically turn on and go machine ever put out.
 
Sovereign GT all the way brutha. The best detector I've ever owned hands down.
As a consumer the performance to price ratio is definitely in your favor. You can get a used one for a great price on this very forum.

As with just about every Minelab out there, there will be a little learning curve, but once that lightbulb goes off in your head your going to be glad you went with a Sovereign.
I'd wait for the GT personally but good luck with whatever your decision may be.

One thing I've found is always, if you unsure, always wait. A lot of the time I will want something and wait a month or 2 just to see if it passes. Sometimes it saves me making a mistake. I too have been curious about the Musketeer but not curious enough to peel off the $$$. Plus it has the reputation of liking rusty bottle caps. I can say the sovereign is hard to beat. You should be able to find a good used one if your not in a hurry. A lot of people buy them only to realize it's not for them after a short while. If I was having to wait for payday before buying, I would definitely take my time and find a good used one. They turn up on feebay real often.
 
You are talking about two completely different detectors. Two EXTREMELY different detectors.

You need to know what you want before you buy. You need to have some idea what is different between these two......which is just about everything.
