Should I keep my quattro?

Hi All. I had a question about the Teknetics machine and the Minelab quattro. I've had the quattro now for about 7 months. I'm still getting used to all the sounds and tones it makes. I recently met with my detector dealer in my area and he had the new Teknetics 2 machine. He demonstrated it for me and I have to say that I LOVED what I saw. I especially loved the "quick" response time on it to targets. With the quattro I have noticed the "slow" recovery speed on targets, and I've heard that the slow recovery speed can be a positive thing for whatever reason. My metal detector dealer disagreed with that though telling me that he's never found anything positive about a slow recovery speed on a detector, other than frustration. So I was just wondering if anyone else on this forum has used or has a quattro and what they think about the quattro and the T-2, and if I should trade in my quattro for a T-2, or just stick with the quattro for awhile and learn it better? Thank's for any suggestions. HH. Sincerely, Randy

I'd have a hard time getting rid of that machine right away...It's a good detector you know. I haven't seen the T2 yet but I've read everything coming and going good and negative... Both have been on the boards. However...the T2 has been 95% good and only 5% bad. My GTI 2500 didn't fair that good and it's a great machine.

In about a month I'll have my T2 reviews posted. And I promise I'll put her through the mills...literally. hehehe

and really like it a lot. It's quickly becoming one of my favorite machines along with the Coinstrike & GTi1500. But, I have to admit, I was also fighting with the feeling of trading it for a T-2, but not because I don't like it, or because the T-2 is a better machine, but mainly because the GRASS IS ALWAYS GREENER ON THE OTHER SIDE OF THE FENCE type of mentality. But I think I'm going to keep the Quattro for awhile. That 8" coil makes a world of difference.

Personally, I would keep the Quattro and save for the T2... :) It really depends on what type of sites you hunt which would work better. With my Explorer the LCD ID is slow but the audio ID is a good bit quicker. I would imagine the the Quattro is similar. It's like Mike said the grass is always greener on the other side. The Quattro is a very capable machine too and right in the same territory as the T2. Getting a smaller coil will help you in areas where a quick reset speed is needed.

Hi All. Thank's for the suggestions on keeping the quattro. I think I'll try renting a T-2, if that's possible, and testing them side by side in my hunting areas. Thank's again to everyone. HH. Sincerely, ?Randy
