Should I get an Excalibur or not?? How good of a machine??

Hi everyone I have been metal detecting for quite a few years and found lots of gold with my Surfmaster PI. I am hearing alot of positive and negative responses for the Excalibur. I would love to get that machine but some people have been saying that this machine breaks down alot and has alot of problems with it. Then I hear that this is the machine to get to look for lost rings and avoid digging all the trash when water hunting. Can anyone help me with this problem and tell me their experiences and give me some advice. Thank You

Certainly one of your best water machines and handle salt sand condition well...Of course your PI handles salt sand condition well but picks up all and quite a backbreaker especially on some of the beaches I have hunted, while he Excalibur cuts down on the digging and along with the CZ20 certainly produces...

Hi Makahaman, I've had a total of (3) Excals', and a CZ-20 since the winter of 2000, when I bought my 1st one brand new. I LOVE the EXCAL so much, that I bought a backup EXCAL, and only bought the 3rd one, because it was the Older Model, which I prefer. When I first bought mine, MINELAB had a FEW KINKS in them, but over the yrs. MINELAB has got ALOT ot the KINKS out of them. They do require AFTERCARE by the OWNER, especially if you are a SALTWATER HUNTER like me!! The CZ-20 is also an EXCELLENT SALTWATER Detector, but it has some limitations, that the EXCALS' don't have. I HIGHLY RECOMMEND the EXCAL, and since the early 2000's, when DICK SHULTZ took over MINELAB CUSTOMER SERVICE, I DON'T HAVE ANY COMPLAINTS WITH MINELAB SERVICE, and they have TREATED ME G-R-E-A-T!!! If you decide to follow thru with an EXCAL, contact me for some NECESSARY AFTERMARKET ADD-ONS!! Best of luck whatever you decide!! NamVetLesTreasureSeeker
