should i buy one

I have a safari I was wondering should I get a 3030 or just etrac I do not need the under water because I hunt land pot go with the e trac I don't need it to be water proof so is it worth it or is the e trac the way to go any pluses of the 3030 beside waterproof and how I do not need that

I was deciding heavily between etrac and 3030 I went 3030 and I am glad that I did. If you have the extra change to spare I recommend the 3030. GL in your decision. HH

It depends on two things. If you have the money to swing a deal and how much you hunt. The CTX is compared to the E Trac quite a bit. There are plenty of threads on it. Recovery Speed and tones are two big leaps that made it worth while to me.

i chose the 3030 when i was heavily weighing my options, and i thought about how the etrac has a few years under its belt, but we all know how fast tech moves as soon as you learn your iphone theres a new one.if they faze out the etrac in say 5 more years that was a good 8-9 year run.so i started fresh with the 3030 hoping to have years of support ahead before the next got to have it comes out,i at first bought the etrac and used it for 1 day then it died so i sent it in and when they sent me back a sealed etrac i sold it and bought the 3030,and i thank god i made the right choice, before i opened it and used it,as soon as i turned on the 3030 i was like wow i almost got stuck with the etrac,.

I sold my Safari and bought E-Trac. I like CTX 3030 but my vibra-phone cant hold CTX 3030 because of too thick below the box. I am hearing impaired and Vibra-phone hold E-Trac very well. Safari is good but you might get pull tabs before get nickel.

The CTX3030 is noticably faster than the E-Trac and TID is more consistent at depth. Those two things jump right out at you when you use the CTX after using an E-Trac. I would not say that it is a deeper-seeking machine, but it peforms better on deep targets. If that is worth the extra dollars then go for it. If not, then decide if wireless capability and the ability to hunt in shallow water are important to you. I don't consider Trarget Trace an important feature. TID and sound are what will make you dig or not dig. And I don't use the GPS function, so I don't consider it important, either. It's basically a faster, better performing, waterproof machine.

Don't do it! you will be giving in to the "sickness" we all have for deep silver! lol

Holler if you have any questions on either machine. Love to help you!

YEP BUY ONE!!! Really though you won't regret it.

I just bought one and I have an etrac. It is a great machine, I found ten silvers in my first week. I never found ten silvers in one week with my etrac. Don't get me wrong, I love my etrac, but the CTX is better and worth the extra money.

I say do it if you can afford it, I love the way the ctx can find coins or any good target in nail infested areas. I hunt areas with bigger pieces of iron, and have found silver lurking very close to the rusted iron.
