Shotgun with a rich gold mining history!

I don't normally post on this forum but thought the prospectors on this forum might be interested in this particular post.
I was given a unique shotgun recently by my wife's Uncle who has held it in the family for many years. It belonged to my wife's great great grandfather George Washington Rose who worked the Armagosa gold mine in death Valley Cal; in the mid to late 1800's. I can only imagine the sights and scenes that this gun has seen and if it could talk, it could share a few great stories of those colorful years in the 1800's!! I feel very privileged to own it and will hand it down to one of my son's in years to come.
 
Righteous ol'piece and definately a keeper. You can do much more research by id # and back up stories with facts also-John
 
just don't shoot that with highbase ammo....especially if it is the old damascus twist...
