You can use either a tubing cutter or a dremel type tool. Hold the lower rod up against the middle rod and see how much too long the stock one is. Take into account that the little spring clip does not go quite to the end of the lower rod. Remove the spring clip and cut the upper end of the lower rod off so that the spring clip on the "soon to be cut" end will be in about the middle hole of the middle rod. That way you will still have some holes that it will connect to, both above and below the one you will plugging into. Then you simply drill a hole through the freshly cut end, to accommodate the spring clip. Put it back together and go find some coins! HH Randy
