Short Yard hunt again

Once again I figured I would try Ferrous, -22 IM OFF OFF. This one was extremely deep, the depth meter was completely buried using my 12 x 10 SEF. I think I may use Ferrous for a while. I get alot of short "Snapping" signals but the deep ones seem to be easier with Ferrous, at least for me. I had to remove some rusted iron first and then another piece below it.

Here she is, I can't see a date on it but I am still thrilled to pull it out.

kewl find I found two of them last year in a small yard stuck togather I was excited to find two first for me they are a pretty coin

Way to go Jeff and you got it with some Iron in the hole. She almost looks like I see a 5 as the last digit?
Regardless beautiful 2 Center. :super:

It is great to see Ferrous is working for you.

The longer you try it the more you will not want to go back to Conductive so, fair warning.

BTW: Go to "Search" and type in "Ferrous" and "Ferrous Tones" and set the search for "all dates" and only in the "Explorer Classroom" and "Explorer Forum'.
The posts go back about 11 years (I am here back then with a diff. user name) and you will be suprised at how much of that information will help you.

Will do Mike, I spent so more time today using ferrous and the one thing I notice is that the deep signals are now less often, meaning I believe thats where Ferrous is best. The deep iron is not such a distraction. Well I guess I should say deep iron doesn't blend so good with a coin and that is why I get the popping and crackling. A coin will try and over power the sound of the low grunting iron.

A Ferrous VS Non-Ferrous battle:wacko: Thats something I will have to get used to.

Thanks Mike

Nice find Jeff. I almost always hunt IM 22 ferrous, sometimes deep on only. I've gotten used to ferrous and I do pretty well with it. I'm tempted to try switching to conductive on a few targets just to compare the sounds after seeing the opinions posted lately.
